Go ahead, say it a few times — it sounds a little surreal at first, doesn’t it? (Kind of like Beyoncé… but with an “F” 😉). First things first — congratulations! This is such a special chapter in your life — filled with planning, dreaming, shopping, and yes… taking those slightly awkward-but-oh-so-fun engagement photos while I’m behind the camera laughing right along with you.
While I’ve loved my years of capturing weddings, I’ve since decided to hang up the veil and focus my creative energy in other areas. But don’t worry — I still absolutely adore photographing engagements! 💍 Wedding Planning Tip of the Day
Ladies, here’s a little piece of advice when it comes to planning your big day with your hubby-to-be: to be totally honest… he doesn’t really care. 😅
Now, before you roll your eyes — hear me out! It’s not that he isn’t excited or doesn’t want to be involved. Truth is, he just wants your wedding day to be everything you’ve ever dreamed of — and seeing you happy is what makes him happiest.
When you’re tackling that never-ending wedding checklist (thank you, Google!), pick out a few key tasks that he might actually enjoy taking the lead on. Think: choosing the DJ or music playlist, planning the honeymoon, creating his side of the guest list, or picking out gifts for the groomsmen.
Maybe skip asking for input on flowers, invitation designs, or color palettes — those are best left to the pros (aka you!). Give him the fun, low-stress jobs he can’t possibly mess up — and that he’ll actually feel good about doing.
Because let’s be honest… the phrase “Happy wife, happy life” goes both ways. And if my husband were reading this right now, he’d probably laugh and say, “You should’ve taken your own advice!” 😂
Trust me, ladies — give him the tasks he enjoys, and he’ll love you even more for it!
